The southernmost city in Portugal

Faro is the southernmost city in Portugal and located in the Algarve province. Faro has about 23,000 residents. The city was Moorish from the 8th century to 1249. This was Faro Moors’ last bastion in Portugal. In 1722 and 1755, Faro almost completely destroyed by the earthquake. Faro is the center of a large tourist area. In addition, Faro is an important port in the export of fish, wine and fruit. There is an airport which makes it quick and easy to get to and from the area. May you discover an error or to have additions, we will be very grateful if you write an email to info@boligudland.dk  . We will, as quickly as possible, investigate and correct this.
